KRISTEN STEWART WEARS PRINCESS DIANA’S WEDDING DRESS IN "SPENCER"

Maybe you’ve heard or watched the movie Spencer by now where Kristen Stewart as the late Princess Diana. The film follows the Royal Family during their Christmas vacation at the Queen's Sandringham Estate, and the fictional plot centers around Diana amid the demise of her and Prince Charles's marriage.

And while the film doesn't give us a full reimagining of Princess Diana's wedding day, we were gifted a glimpse of Kristen Stewart in a remaking of the princess's iconic dress—originally designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel—during a flashback sequence.

Stewart is seen walking outside in a recreated version of the famous gown, which featured over-the-top sleeves and a ruffled neckline, reminiscent of Diana's dramatic silk-and-taffeta wedding dress that's since become one of the most recognizable fashion moments of all time. Of course, it is not the original dress that Princess Di wore on 29 July, 1981, designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, but it is a spot-on replication created by costume designer Jacqueline Durran for the Pablo Larraín film.

Stewart gave an interview during which she said she felt Princess Diana's presence on set while filming the movie, telling the L.A. Times, "I felt some spooky, spiritual feelings making this movie. I felt like there were moments where I kind of got the sign-off."

"It's scary to tell a story about someone who's not alive anymore and who already felt so invaded," she said. "I never wanted to feel like we were invading anything, just that we were kind of adding to the multiplicity of a beautiful thing."
